On June 7, delegations from the Department of Industry and Trade of Can Tho City and the Department of Industry and Trade of Hanoi visited and held a working session with WestFood Joint Stock Company. The visit was part of a supply-demand connectivity and investment cooperation program between the two localities, aimed at building a sustainable North–South economic value chain spanning production, processing, logistics, consumption, and export.
During the meeting, the parties discussed opportunities to strengthen cooperation in developing agricultural value chains and enhancing connectivity between raw material areas in the Mekong Delta and the major consumer market in Hanoi. With its advanced processing capabilities, extensive export experience, and internationally certified quality management system, WestFood was proposed as the representative enterprise of Can Tho City to participate in this collaborative initiative.
Representatives of the visiting delegation highly appreciated WestFood’s role in enhancing the value of Vietnamese agricultural products through processing, preservation, and export activities. The company is expected to serve as an important bridge, helping high-quality agricultural products from the Mekong Delta gain broader access to modern distribution systems and consumers in Northern Vietnam.

The cooperation framework between the two cities will enable Hanoi to support the distribution of Can Tho’s key products—including premium rice, seafood, fresh fruits, processed foods, and OCOP products—through its modern retail network. More than 100 tons of agricultural products from Can Tho are expected to be introduced to the Hanoi market in the near future.
In parallel with market connectivity activities, the two localities will also collaborate on promotional programs showcasing specialty products from the Mekong Delta at major retail chains, helping to strengthen brand recognition and expand market opportunities for agricultural producers and food processors.
Sharing at the meeting, Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet, Chairwoman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of WestFood, said: “We are honored to be selected as the representative enterprise of Can Tho City in this program. This is not only an opportunity for WestFood to expand business cooperation but also a responsibility to work alongside the local authorities in promoting agricultural consumption, enhancing supply chain value, and contributing to regional economic development.”

As a company with many years of experience in frozen fruit and vegetable processing and food exports, WestFood has consistently invested in modern technology, improved product quality, and developed sustainable raw material areas. Its participation in the Hanoi–Can Tho cooperation program aligns with the company’s long-term development strategy while creating greater opportunities to strengthen partnerships within the domestic market.
The visit by the Departments of Industry and Trade of Can Tho and Hanoi marks another milestone in the growing cooperation between the two cities and lays the foundation for establishing effective economic linkages between Southern and Northern Vietnam. As the representative enterprise participating in the program, WestFood looks forward to leveraging its strengths in agricultural processing to bring more high-quality Vietnamese products to consumers both domestically and internationally.
