In 2021, despite being heavily affected by the Covid-19 epidemic, Westfood Processing Export Joint Stock Company (Westfood) still earned a revenue of nearly VND 280 billion and before-tax profit of nearly VND 23 billion. To achieve this result, in addition to the efforts of Westfood, there was also the effective encouragement and support from agencies, departments, and agencies of Can Tho City.
To grasp the situation of recovering production and business of enterprises after the Covid-19 epidemic, on March 2nd, 2022, a delegation from Can Tho City Department of Industry and Trade led by Mr. Ha Vu Son, Director of the Department, together with Ninh Kieu District People’s Committee of and Can Tho Center for Disease Control (CDC), visited and worked with Westfood Export Joint Stock Company (Westfood).

At the meeting, Mr. Pham Van Dien – Westfood Production Director, reported to the delegation of the City leaders on production and business activities in 2021 and the direction of the company’s production and business plan in 2022.
In 2022, when the COVID-19 epidemic situation stabilizes, Westfood is determined to focus on accelerating production development. So far, over 95% of officials and employees have completed the third vaccine injection, and 100% of officials and employees have completed the second vaccine injection to ensure sufficient manpower to participate in production for purchase orders and major partners. In addition, Westfood is focusing on expanding the MD2 pineapple raw material area in the Mekong Delta and Central Highlands provinces to meet the growing demand of the market with the goal of up to 1000 hectares to bring the total harvest output up to 30,000 tons/year and stabilize the materials for the factory and supply to Westfood’s existing markets.

In 2022 and beyond, Westfood will continue to implement the plan to introduce products into the chain of convenience stores and foreign supermarkets in Vietnam such as Aeon or Lotte Mart nationwide with fresh pineapple products and processed products with added value such as canned pineapple and rapid freezing of IQF.
Mr. Ha Vu Son, Director of Can Tho City Department of Industry and Trade highly appreciated and recognized the efforts of Westfood’s Board of Directors in recent years in trying to complete the production and business plans with many outstanding achievements. Mr. Son also said that, at the same time, the City leaders will continue to accompany and support large enterprises, such as Westfood, in economic development.
