With the approval of Can Tho City, from September 24, 2021, Western Food Processing and Export Joint Stock Company (Westfood) is allowed to add 125 employees to the second phase to serve the needs of production and business in the new situation.
As one of the qualified units to implement the “3-on-the-spot” production plan of Ninh Kieu district, Can Tho city, Westfood always ensures strict compliance with epidemic prevention regulations, fulfilling dual goals of effectively preventing the epidemic, ensuring safe production” and taking care of the employees who work at the company.

In order to check the production of “3 on the spot” of Westfood – one of the key enterprises in the area, on the morning of September 24, 2021, Mr. Le Van Thanh, Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Committee inspecting Can Tho City Party Committee led the delegation to visit and encourage officials and employees who are working at the Company.

Recepting the inspection delegation, a representative of Westfoods said that with 196 employees currently engaged in “3 on-site” production (former workers of the company) all strictly comply with the epidemic prevention and control according to the regulations of Can Tho City. Of the 125 newly licensed workers, all are in the “green zone” (45 have completed 2 vaccinations, 50 have received 1 dose of COVID-19 vaccine). The company has arranged a buffer zone, employees enter the factory in 2 batches, all employees are quickly tested for COVID-19 before entering isolation, RT-PCR test after 3 days and full 7 days of rapid test, working is allowed if there are negative results. To ensure safe production in normal conditions, Wesfood hopes the city will support the remaining 312 employees of the company to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
Mr. Le Van Thanh shared and encouraged Westfood to remain its efforts to support the city to overcome difficulties caused by the COVID-19 epidemic. At the same time, he also acknowledged and praised Westfood’s initiative in distributing meal vouchers and meal timetables, avoiding large gatherings and ensuring safety and preventing epidemics for employees, then suggested that Departments research industry, replicating this innovative model in the city’s on-site production.
Owning the assistance of the government and departments, Westfood is gradually restoring production and business activities, meeting domestic and foreign orders.
