From December 5th to 8th, 2023, the 32nd Vietnam Student Computer Science Olympic (OLP’23), Procon, and the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC Asia) were successfully held. The OLP’23, Procon, and ICPC Asia Hue City brought together the most outstanding IT students from universities, colleges, and academies across the country. These are the largest international-scale competitions in Vietnam, organized consecutively, aiming to commend the talents and IT skills of students and to find the best team to participate in the global ICPC Finals in September 2024.

This year’s OLP’23, Procon, and ICPC Asia Hue City competitions gathered 612 IT students and over 140 coaches from 79 universities and colleges nationwide, along with 20 teams consisting of 60 students from 10 prestigious universities from 6 countries: South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines. Specifically, over 436 students participated in the 5 Olympic blocks, Procon, and 372 students (124 teams) attended the ICPC Asia Hue City contest, including 20 teams from 6 Asian countries. The total number of teams participating in all contest events reached nearly 200 teams competing for Team and Group Awards.
Throughout the OLP’23, Procon, and ICPC Asia Hue City, Vikoda’s brand of natural alkaline mineral water from Khanh Hoa Mineral Water Joint Stock Company was always present and accompanied the contestants and organizers from the opening day, registration, system testing, to the competitive events of the competition.

At OLP’23, the organizing committee awarded prizes in 6 categories: OLP 2023 Gold Cup (super cup); Procon programming contest; open-source software contest; Olympic block for non-specialist and college students; Olympic block for specialist IT students; OLP’23 team prize for specialist and non-specialist IT students. The most important award of OLP’23, the OLP 2023 Gold Cup, was won by contestant Tran Xuan Bach from VNU. At ICPC Asia Hue City 2023, after intense competition, the team from South Korea won the championship and will represent the region at the global ICPC Finals in September 2024.
