As part of the plan to visit and inspect key enterprises in the production area during the Covid-19 epidemic, on the morning of September 9, 2021, Mr. Le Quang Manh, executive committee member of the Party Central Committee paid a visit and inspected the “3-on-the-spot” production at Mien Tay Export Food Processing Joint Stock Company – Westfood.
At the visitation, the Westfood representative reported in detail the manufacturing status of “3-on-site” of the enterprise. From August 25, after the company was licensed to resume production under the “3 on-site” option, Westfood currently operates with 71 employees and operates with the goal of ensuring safe and limited to reduce the impact of the epidemic on production and business activities. Rapid testing was carried out in 3 days to test 1 representative of 1 production team, with a total of 15/71 employees; Real Times PCR testing is performed every 7 days for 100% of employees involved in production. Currently, Westfood has 253 people who have been vaccinated the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine, of which 97 employees have been injected with the second dose.
The company’s Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control regularly self-assesses the risk of infection and develops detailed scenarios to respond when there is a case of Covid-19. Building a production map, eating and resting places for employees involved in 3 on the spot production on 1 road, 2 destinations.
In the upcoming plan, Westfood will carry out procedures to increase 39 employees to meet production capacity.
At the meeting, Mr. Le Quang Manh was highly concerned in the local production and Westfood’s ability to accommodate manufacture requirements. He said that implementing “3 on the spot” as Westfood both requires the initiative of businesses, and the participation of all levels, sectors, then the city government’s coordination with businesses to seek for possible options and solutions to solve difficulties. In addition, the city also makes efforts to minimize the epidemic situations, making the operation of businesses to be more convenient on the principle of ensuring the safety of people.
Despite many challenges due to the epidemic, the first 6 months of 2021 Westfood still achieved a revenue of 164.6 billion VND, equivalent to 111% compared to the same period in 2020; pre-tax profit reached over VND 19.6 billion, equivalent to 180% over the same period in 2020. This is an encouraging result, showing Westfood’s initiative and adaptability in comparison to general economic situations of enterprises in Can Tho city.
