Currently, WestFood employs more than 700 staff and workers, contributing to the local socio-economic development. Over the course of more than 20 years of growth, the WestFood brand has affirmed its reputation in the international market, achieving prestigious certifications such as FDA, IFS, KOSHER, BRC, HALAL, FSSC, and FSMA. WestFood’s products have been successfully exported to high-demand markets including the EU, the United States, Chile, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, and China. Its diverse product portfolio includes canned fruits, IQF frozen fruits, pouch-packed and semi-dried fruits, fruit juices, and fresh produce. The company has also developed its own 150-hectare MD2 pineapple farming area, ensuring a stable and high-quality raw material supply.

At the ceremony, Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet, Chairwoman and CEO of WestFood, shared: “The inauguration of the WestFood Hau Giang Plant is both a great source of pride and a result of our more than 20 years of development. This event not only marks a significant milestone for the company but also demonstrates WestFood’s ongoing efforts to enhance the value of Vietnamese agricultural products. WestFood remains committed to creating effective solutions to deliver the freshest and highest-quality fruits and vegetables to consumers. We continue to invest in modern and advanced technology to ensure the highest product standards that meet the requirements of even the most demanding markets. We place strong emphasis on research and development, aiming to introduce new, innovative products — including those that are first of their kind in the market, 100% Made by WestFood. Our goal is to bring a wide range of high-quality products to global markets, connecting the bountiful produce of the Mekong Delta to dining tables worldwide — promoting health and wellness through fresh, nutritious, and safe agricultural products.”

At the ceremony, Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet also signed cooperation agreements with international partners, marking a new step in the company’s global expansion. She emphasized that the establishment of the WestFood Hau Giang Plant will be a driving force for the company to further develop its raw material zones, not only for MD2 pineapples but also for various other crops. “WestFood is eager to strengthen the partnership between enterprises and farmers. This linkage ensures that businesses have proactive access to raw materials, while farmers can produce confidently without facing price instability or the paradox of bumper crops with low prices.”
Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People’s Committee, Nguyen Van Hoa, stated: “The Mekong Delta is a key economic region, contributing about 95% of Vietnam’s rice exports, 65% of seafood exports, and 70% of fruit exports nationwide. This abundant source of raw materials provides favorable conditions for the plant’s operations, helping to form a closed-loop agricultural supply chain that ensures sustainable outputs for hundreds of farming households in Can Tho and neighboring provinces — thereby enhancing the added value of Vietnamese agricultural products. We encourage the investor to operate the project efficiently, continue to innovate technology, diversify products, expand export markets, and increase raw material areas — contributing to the global presence of Can Tho’s agricultural brand.”

During the ceremony, WestFood Hau Giang presented gifts and flowers to outstanding MD2 pineapple farmers for their contributions and achievements. According to WestFood, the company has developed 150 hectares of MD2 pineapple and plans to expand to 1,200 hectares by 2030.
