On the morning of September 26, WestFood Joint Stock Company for Export Food Processing officially inaugurated the WestFood Hau Giang Agro-Food Processing Plant, marking a significant milestone in the company’s development journey and contributing to enhancing the value and international reputation of Vietnamese agricultural products.
The project is also part of the list of construction and inauguration projects celebrating the 1st Congress of the Can Tho City Party Committee for the 2025–2030 term.

The WestFood Hau Giang Plant covers an area of 7 hectares, with a total investment of over VND 666 billion and a designed capacity of 30,000 tons of finished products per year. The plant is equipped with a state-of-the-art European-standard production line, including a European IQF (Individual Quick Freezing) system, a three-tier automatic conveyor system, automatic fruit peeling and cutting machines, automated canned and cup fruit production lines, and cold and chilled storage facilities with a capacity of up to 3,000 MT (equivalent to 3,000 tons).
Currently, WestFood provides jobs for over 700 employees, contributing to the socio-economic development of the local area.
Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet, Chairwoman and CEO of WestFood, shared that the inauguration of the WestFood Hau Giang Plant is a great source of pride and the result of more than 20 years of development.
“This is not only an important milestone for the company but also a reaffirmation of WestFood’s efforts to increase the value of Vietnamese agricultural products. In this spirit, WestFood once again commits to continuously striving to create effective solutions, providing consumers with the freshest and highest-quality fruits and vegetables,” she said.

At the ceremony, Nguyen Van Hoa, Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People’s Committee, emphasized that the city has always focused on improving the investment environment, upgrading technical infrastructure, and enhancing the quality of human resources to attract large-scale investment projects with modern and environmentally friendly technologies.
He recognized the efforts of the collective and individuals at WestFood Hau Giang, as well as the contractors and workers who worked tirelessly to overcome many challenges to officially bring the Hau Giang Agro-Food Processing Complex into operation.

The Mekong Delta is considered a key economic region, contributing approximately 95% of the country’s exported rice, 65% of its seafood production, and 70% of its fruit exports.
This abundant supply of raw materials provides favorable conditions for the operation of the plant complex, while also helping establish a closed agricultural supply chain, providing sustainable market outlets for hundreds of farmers in Can Tho and neighboring provinces, and increasing the added value of Vietnamese agricultural products.
Therefore, Nguyen Van Hoa urged the investors to operate the project and invested capital efficiently, continue investing in technology upgrades, diversify products, expand export markets, and increase the area of raw material zones, thereby helping the Can Tho agricultural brand reach further in the international market.
