CEO of Can Tho Techno – Agricultural Supplying JSC (TSC) – Mr. Phan Minh Sang has recently had a visit and work with Pioneer Hi-Bred Philippines (from 02 to 06 March 2015) to learn about the investment and seed factory establishment method in Vietnam, as well as manufacturing processes of corn seed products which is distributed by this company.

TSC Seed JSC – a subsidiary of TSC is established in October 2014 and has the potential to become a strategic business segment of TSC in the upcoming time. This is because the domestic seed market is still left open when annually over 70% hybrid rice seeds are imported and over USD 500 million is spent to import 8,000 tons of vegetable seeds from foreign companies. With strategic vision and ambition, the intention to build up manufacturing plant in Vietnam of the Board of Directors of TSC is a bold but very promising plan for TSC to achieve new successes in the near future.

During this trip, Mr. CEO is introduced about the seed manufacturing plant of Pinoneer Hi-Bred Philippines at Tarlac city; one of the most modern factories in the Philippines. The factory is located in an area of 7.4 hectares at the industrial zone Lusita, which can provide 12,000 tons of seeds annually to the market and create jobs for more than 400 employees. In addition, he also visited the production processes of corn seed from selecting seed to field demonstration, packaged end-products and store system.
