Nestled in Cay Sung Hamlet, Dien Tho Commune, Khanh Hoa Province, the Dảnh Thạnh mineral spring is one of Vietnam’s rare natural alkaline water sources, recognized for its long-term viability and health benefits. This spring is the primary source for Vikoda’s natural alkaline mineral water—a flagship brand of Khanh Hoa Mineral Water Joint Stock Company.
Surrounded by a 35-hectare protected zone, the Dảnh Thạnh spring is rigorously managed to preserve water purity and maintain the stability of the surrounding ecosystem. Drilled at an average depth of over 220 meters, its key well—Dảnh Thạnh 1 (DT1)—ensures a consistent supply of high-quality water for Vikoda’s entire production line.
What sets Dảnh Thạnh apart is the naturally high water temperature at its extraction point—around 72°C—evidence of its deep geothermal origins and stable subsurface conditions. The water carries a naturally alkaline pH of 9.0 and is rich in essential minerals such as H₂SiO₃, HCO₃⁻, Na⁺, K⁺, and Ca²⁺. Ideal for daily consumption, this mineral profile helps support digestion, neutralize stomach acid, and improve gut health.
A Closed Pipeline System Powered by Innovation
Integral to transporting water from the spring to the bottling facility is the Hung Yen Bridge—an infrastructure project completed in 2023. Spanning 132 meters, the newly built bridge replaced an aging structure over 30 years old, ensuring safety for both internal logistics and the water transfer system. Beneath it runs a dual-layer steel pipeline that directly channels hot mineral water to the production plant. Its sealed, high-durability design preserves the natural temperature of 72°C without artificial reheating. This is among Vietnam’s few specially engineered high-pressure pipeline systems for mineral water.
In addition to mineral water, the Dảnh Thạnh site also reveals deposits of natural mineral mud—formed by the interaction of hot mineral water with subterranean mineral-rich rocks. As the water flows through iron-, magnesium-, and sulfur-bearing geological layers and encounters pH and temperature changes near the surface, minerals precipitate and form therapeutic mud. This mud is high in trace elements and sometimes contains thermophilic microorganisms—enhancing its potential applications in wellness and skincare.
